Lauren Tisbo to Compete in $100,000 Trump Invitational

November 30, 2012; Palm Beach, FL – Mark Bellissimo and Donald Trump will be hosting the first FEI-rated show jumping annual $100,000 Trump Invitational, set to be held in the gorgeous Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, FL, on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at 12 p.m. The event will benefit the 2013 FTI Consulting Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments® (FTI GCC). Tequestrian Farms’ rider Lauren Tisbo, representing one of the event’s sponsor’s Suncast, will join other elite riders attending this year’s Trump Invitational.

Mar-a-Lago is a designated U.S. National Landmark and was formerly the Marjorie Merriweather Post Estate. Purchased by Donald Trump in 1985, Mar-a-Lago will host the first equestrian event ever held on Palm Beach Island. The $100,000 Trump Invitational marks the onset of the 2013 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival, a 12-week circuit held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center from January 9 – March 31, 2013.

The first annual Trump Invitational will serve as a fundraising event for the 2013 FTI Consulting Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments®. The Great Charity Challenge raises over one million dollars each year, which is then distributed among 32 local Palm Beach County charities. Over $2.7 million dollars has been fundraised and distributed in the last three years.

Lauren Tisbo, rated as one of the top show jumpers in the United States, will join a host of other high-ranking riders from around the United States. Nick Skelton and Ben Maher, both 2012 Olympic gold medalists, along with additional Olympic riders Mclain Ward, Laura Kraut, Lauren Hough, Ian Millar, Margie Engle, Leslie Howard, and Rodrigo Pessoa, among others, will all be riding alongside Tisbo in the event.

“We are very excited about this event and the chance to have equestrian sport for the first time on Palm Beach Island. It will be a spectacular event at a breathtaking waterfront setting. It will be a great chance to promote the sport and the athletes, all while raising money for the million-dollar FTI Consulting Great Charity Challenge. It has been a pleasure teaming up with the Trump organization and it should be one of the highlights of the 2013 winter season,” ESP CEO Mark Bellissimo said.

“After attending last year’s Nations Cup in Wellington, I thought Mar-a-Lago would be a perfect and world-class setting to showcase the sport, kick off the 2013 equestrian season, and raise money for some great local charities,” Donald Trump highlighted.
